A Charming Home Away from Home in Clungunford’s School House
Our stay at the School House in Clungunford was an absolute delight. From the moment we confirmed our booking, Sophie, our host, extended a warm welcome, setting the tone for a fantastic holiday experience. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a thoughtful welcome basket, a gesture that immediately made us feel at home. It was great to have a modern kitchen, equipped with everything necessary for preparing meals for my family, making it convenient and comfortable. The bedrooms are cosy and warm, which is much needed as the nights are getting colder. My children enjoyed playing in the ample-sized garden as well as the village field, which is about 100 metres away. We also took advantage of the ample supply of games and board games in the house. Our heartfelt thanks to Sophie for creating such a wonderful environment and making our stay an unforgettable experience.

Really well presented with good quality fittings making the house feel very homely. Pretty garden, with plenty of space. Sophia was great at providing information before we arrived so we could book a local restaurant for our first night.

Sophia’s place is beautiful, the photos don’t do it enough justice.
We had a dog with us, the garden was completely enclosed and very safe. There was a field literally across the road for early morning and late night walks. The walks and bike trails are endless and absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed staying here, will deffo come back.

What a pleasant and peaceful stay!
You can tell a lot of thought and care has been put into the house – from all the amenities provided in the kitchen to the decorative features throughout the house. A dog gate is also installed to make it easy to prevent dogs from going up the stairs. Sophie was clear and welcoming in her communication making the self check-in super easy. The house is very charming and in a quiet and peaceful area. The location is great in terms of being able to visit lots of lovely places nearby (from castles and stately homes to market towns and farm shops). A hamper was also provided on our arrival including tea, coffee, biscuits, and cake along with bread, milk and butter. A welcome card was also a lovely touch. The house is just as described and as in the photos. Characterful but with modern comforts, it was made to feel like a home away from home and we would definitely come to stay again.

Perfect, peaceful and luxurious.
Everything was perfect. Incredibly peaceful location with lovely garden for an evening drink. Inside the house is immaculate, luxurious and well appointed. The little touches (antler chew for the dog through to coffee and tea for us) made it even nicer. Sophie left us a welcome card and was v helpful. Overall the whole experience was exactly what a short break should be. Thank you so much!!

This place is a gem!
A piece of heaven. Sophie has exquisitely transformed an old gothic school into a beautiful piece of heaven. The place was comfortable, peaceful and had everything that you need. We felt like home. Sophie prepared a beautiful hamper with some local foods and to enjoy our breakfast. Also, Sophie was very supportive and responded to all my messages.
